To say that hockey is beautiful may seem like an odd statement to an outsider. But for those who play the game of hockey, or know it well enough to see beyond the fights and the chirping – beauty can indeed be found in the heat of the battle. Seeing the skills on display as the brutality of the game swirls around each and every player is a really to see a beautiful, albeit brutal dance with very real consequences.
Plus, it helps to see it in slow motion. Everything is better in slow motion.

But, the heart and soul of the game extends far beyond the rink, up into the stands where the die-hard fans live and breathe each and every moment through the teams/players actions.

For every player that made it to the NHL there is a support system that made it possible. A family, a coach, teammates… it’s never a one-man journey and that support system feels both the highs and the lows on the ice, just like the players.

Lastly, It’s not exactly inspirational but it does light a fire in your gut as a fan to see the behind the scenes side of hockey. Win or lose, it’s always an interesting ride.
